Moral turpitude is a ground for deportation and it involves conduct that violates community morals and standards. Crimes that do not involve moral turpitude include:

  • Drunk driving or DUI

If you are convicted of a crime of moral turpitude in the first five years of getting your green card, you are deportable. If you are convicted of a second crime of moral turpitude, you can be deported at any time. It will not matter if you have lived in the United States for 50 years, you can be deported.
